About Pangea Aerospace:

Pangea Aerospace is an aerospace start-up based in Barcelona and Toulouse focusing on developing disruptive technologies for small satellite launch vehicles. We are searching for new team members that want to contribute on creating the next generation of launchers.

Our mission is to develop the technology that enables a more efficient, sustainable, and commercial access to space. The company successfully tested a world’s first 3D printed aerospike engine, introducing several new technologies into its design. Pangea Aerospace is leading the development of innovative launcher technology making reusable rockets the catalyst for sustainable and low-cost access to space. We are looking for open-minded, driven and talented professionals to join our international team in Toulouse.

Pangea Aerospace is privately funded, supported by national and European institutions and a strong network of European partners.

Role and responsibilities:

You will be responsible to strengthen the capability of Pangea Aerospace (PA) on CFD simulations through OpenFOAM.

First, you will be in charge to validate the setup of OpenFOAM on converged cases performed internally in PA.

Once the right setup has been found, you will use these reference cases as a starting point to develop an aerodynamic database for Flying Vehicles Department and/or an optimization procedure for Propulsion Department. Depending on your experience and the time available after the first tasks, the priorities will be defined together.

What you need to be successful:

Currently following a degree in aerospace engineering (M.Sc.) or related field

Notions on fluid mechanics applied on aerospace engineering (aerodynamics, combustion, heat transfer, ...)

Openfoam (a first experience in its environment will be appreciated - no matter the application)

Familiar with other CFD software (Ansys Fluent, StarCCM, SimScale, Flow3D, ...)

Computational skills on C++, Python is an advantage.

Target-oriented work style with analytic problem-solving skills

High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as individually

Good communication skills

Capable of working in a flexible and open-minded environment

Fluent in English (French and/or Spanish would be a plus)
