About Pangea Aerospace:
We are a company dedicated to developing advanced propulsion systems for the space industry based on three key principles: high efficiency, sustainability, and reusability. We are revolutionizing the space industry with ground breaking innovations that allows us to offer the best performance to cost propulsion systems.
Our goal is to be the propulsion provider for the next-generation of spacecraft, which are essential to meet the demands and compete in the booming space market of the next decade.
We are a passionate, multicultural, and multidisciplinary team pushing the boundaries of what it is possible in space propulsion technology.
We have already made history by successfully testing the world's first 3D printed Methalox Aerospike engine, marking a significant milestone for the space industry.
We are looking for talented professionals to join our international team in Barcelona and Toulouse. We want to be key player in improving diversity in Aerospace sector as, in Pangea, we believe that diversity (gender, age, race, sexual orientation, beliefs, disability, culture, etc.) is a key to success. Within Pangea, everyone can grow with the same opportunities. We encourage you to apply. Individually we are different, but together we are an amazing team!
We are looking for an Configuration Engineer in Barcelona.
About the job:
You will work with keeping control and overview of the various configurations of the company’s propulsion product developments. This includes that you will be creating and maintaining a process to trace and manage the project baseline requirements, the current design state and parameters of the company’s various propulsion products, to ensure that the various iterations of each product is properly and securely tracked, so that there is no uncertainty regarding what is the most recent configuration of each product, together with its associated parameters, and what would be the proper configuration/data to refer to for different scenarios/uses.
You would more specifically be assigned to create and manage activity matrix for the various projects, i.e. a flow-chart of activities that aligns with the development plan of the product; with each activity having clearly defined inputs and outputs with associated and clearly traceable configuration identifiers; and to create and maintain a tool / database and/or documentation management system to collect all relevant data of each configuration in an orderly fashion that allows for reverse-lookup and reverse-engineering of previous configurations. This allows for accurate and detailed traceability of the product’s entire evolution from scratch until the finished product.
You would also use this data to regularly create configuration evolution reports, where e.g. the evolution of parameters / system specifications such as mass, power budgets, cost, thrust, mass flow rate, etc. can be overviewed to allow for possible future predictions of the direction the configuration is changing, as well as an historical overview of what changes have occurred. This would be presented to the various technical and commercial teams, as well as the lead product engineers, of the various engines in development.
You will be responsible for communicating and notifying the experts and specialists for an evaluation of the change request proposals and manage the process up to its completion.
You would be the main configuration engineer at the company, with full responsibility for the company-wide process, and you would be involved with the configuration tracking of the full range of chemical propulsion products at the company e.g. the launch vehicle engines ARCOS and KRONOS, as well as the in-space propulsion line UNYX. You should be comfortable working with large teams and complex projects, and with making independent decisions. Previous relevant experience with configuration management or systems engineering of hardware-based projects is highly meritorious.
