The company successfully tested a world’s first 3D printed aerospike engine, introducing several new technologies into its design. About your job:

You will be working directly on Pangea Aerospace’s 300 kN Aerospike Engine, Arcos.

You will be responsible for the development (design, analyse, build, and test) of key propulsion components for the Arcos Engine system, including combustion chambers, fluid components and systems, and/or tanks & pressure vessels.

You will have ownership of critical propulsion hardware and systems and will be directly responsible for the success of the first flown aerospike engine.

What you need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing or materials engineering.
  • 2+ years of mechanical and fluidic design, analysis, or build experience (including higher degrees, internship & student project team experience).
  • Fluent English
  • Deep understanding of liquid rocket engine propulsion systems and fluid components
  • Hands-on experience with combustion, fluid, or mechanical systems.
  • Occasional travel to test site to support test campaigns.
  • Experience with NX or similar CAD packages.
  • Experience with the application of GD&T and the creation of engineering design drawings.
  • Proficient in basic principles of flow (compressible and incompressible), heat transfer, mechanics, & materials.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software, as well as good understanding of fatigue, fracture, and crack propagation.
  • Experience with combustion simulation and prediction.
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing techniques & procurement.
  • Experience with cryogenic and pressurized systems.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation equipment.
  • Experience with data processing using MATLAB or Python.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated individual, creative problem solver, experience in overcoming failure, and an independent learner.
