We are looking for a Propulsion Test Engineer in Barcelona

About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Propulsion Test Engineer specializing in testing rocket engines and their subcomponents to join our Test team in Barcelona. The successful candidate will leverage the test campaigns at existing test benches as well as development of new test benches and auxiliary facilities in Pangea. This role is crucial in enhancing the capability of Pangea in developing its cryogenic and storable propellants engines and be a reference in the industry for designing, manufacturing and testing aerospace engines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading test campaigns together with the design team
• Supporting the design team, helping to optimize the propulsion hardware
• Designing and building test bench hardware
• Defining test bench operational procedures
• Preparation of the test bench systems and equipment for test campaigns
• Development and implementation of safety protocols when running test campaign
• Post-processing of test data

What you need to be successful:

• Degree in aerospace engineering (M.Sc./Ph.D.) or related field
• Knowledge of aerospike engine concept would be beneficial
• In-depth understanding of liquid rocket engine working principles
• Hands-on experience with testing propulsion systems and subcomponents will be a plus
• Knowledge of fluidic and data acquisition systems
• Ability to plan test campaigns as well as maintenance activities at the test facility
• Good programming skills, e.g., MatLab, LabVIEW
• CAD experience, preferably using Siemens NX will be beneficial

Other useful skills:

• Experience in cryogenic liquid rocket engine testing
• Experience in operating cryogenic test benches
• Additive manufacturing experience will be beneficial
• Troubleshooting
• Experience in the aerospace industry
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
